Pool Maintenance
Pool Openings Wellington County
We get your pool open, balanced, and swim-ready every spring. Equipment checks included. No shortcuts.
What We Do
A proper opening sets up your entire swim season.
We've been opening pools across Guelph, Fergus, Elora, Rockwood, Acton, and Wellington County since 2006. A pool opening is more than pulling the cover off and adding chemicals. We inspect the equipment, check for winter damage, test and balance the water, and make sure everything is running correctly before we leave.
We open pools we installed and pools we didn't. If you are looking for a reliable crew to take over your seasonal service, we are taking on new clients across Wellington County.

What's Included
Everything your pool needs to start the season right.
Our pool opening service covers cover removal and storage, reinstalling return fittings and skimmer baskets, reconnecting and starting up the pump, filter, and heater, inspecting equipment for winter damage, testing and balancing water chemistry, and a full equipment check before we leave.
If we find something that needs attention during the opening, we tell you immediately and quote the repair on the spot. No surprises on the invoice and no return visits to finish what we started.

Pool Opening FAQ
Your pool opening questions, answered.
When should I open my pool in Ontario?
Most pools in Ontario are opened between late April and late May depending on weather conditions. Opening too early risks a freeze event damaging equipment. Waiting too long allows algae to establish in warming water. A water temperature consistently above 15 degrees Celsius is generally the right signal to open. Pristine Pools monitors seasonal conditions across Wellington County and advises clients on timing each spring.
What is included in a professional pool opening?
A professional pool opening includes cover removal, cleaning, and storage, reinstalling return fittings and skimmer baskets, reconnecting and starting the pump, filter, and heater, inspecting all equipment for winter damage, testing and balancing water chemistry, and a full equipment check before leaving. Pristine Pools flags any issues found during the opening and provides a quote for any repairs needed before the next visit.
How long does a pool opening take?
A pool opening typically takes 1 to 3 days depending on the unique needs and complexity of your pool, including its size, cover type, and the condition of the water after winter. Pools built by Pristine Pools often have specific features and systems that we account for during the opening to make sure everything is balanced and running properly. Pools that were closed correctly in the fall generally open more smoothly in the spring, and we complete every opening with the same attention to detail across Wellington County.
Do I need to be home when my pool is opened?
You do not need to be home for a pool opening provided we have access to the pool and equipment. Many clients leave a gate code or key for access. We complete the full opening and flag anything that needs follow up. If we find an issue that requires your input before proceeding, we will contact you directly.
How far in advance should I book a pool opening in Wellington County?
Spring pool opening slots in Wellington County fill up quickly. Pristine Pools recommends booking your opening in February or March to secure your preferred date. Clients who book early in the season have more flexibility on scheduling. Last-minute bookings in May are subject to availability and may result in a later opening date than preferred.
What should I do to prepare for a pool opening?
Most homeowners do not need to do anything to prepare for a pool opening. Pristine Pools brings all necessary chemicals, tools, and equipment to complete the opening in a single visit. If you have a mesh safety cover, clearing any standing water or debris from the top before our arrival can speed up the process. If you have a tarp or fitted cover, you will need to pump off any standing water before our arrival. If you know of any issues from last season, let us know when booking so we can bring the right parts.
Can you open a pool that Pristine Pools did not install?
Yes. Pristine Pools opens and maintains pools across Wellington County regardless of who installed them. If you are switching pool service companies, provide us with your equipment model numbers and any known service history when booking. We assess the equipment condition during the opening and advise on any upgrades or repairs that would improve performance or extend equipment life.
